We Found GIANT Coho Salmon and Steelhead in a Tiny Creek! (Still Trying for Claira’s First Trout)

Big coho salmon and rainbow trout were caught in this small stream — even though that wasn’t our goal! We set out hoping to catch Claira’s first ever creek trout, but fall brought some surprises. The coho and steelhead are running upstream for the winter, and a few absolute monsters showed up in shallow water. Using in-line spinners and jerkbaits on light spinning gear, we hooked into powerful fish in crystal-clear current. Even though Claira’s brown trout still got away, the adventure was full of big fish, laughs, and some wild creek battles. We still have a LOT to learn about creek and river fishing from shore.
