In this powerful Jumu’ah khutbah, Sajid Umar reminds us that the blessings of Allah are countless — and that Friday (Jumu’ah) itself is one of the greatest weekly gifts Allah has given this Ummah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described Friday as: The best day the sun rises upon The day Adam عليه السلام was created The day he entered Paradise The day he was sent down to earth And the Day of Judgment will occur on a Friday Jumu’ah is the believer’s weekly Eid, filled with divine opportunities — including an hour in which du‘a is accepted. This should push every believer to turn to Allah throughout the day, constantly asking, hoping, and returning. 🌙 The Central Message: Hope Through Allah’s Mercy If Allah were to hold people accountable for every sin, none of us would survive. But Allah is Al-Ghafūr, the Most Forgiving. The khutbah highlights the Names of Allah that embody hope: Ar-Rahmān — His mercy reaches all creation, even those who disobey Him Ar-Rahīm — His special mercy is reserved for the believers in the Hereafter Al-Ghāfir / Al-Ghaffār / Al-Ghafūr — Allah forgives repeatedly and abundantly, no matter how many times you return sincerely Al-‘Afū — Allah can erase sins so completely as if they never happened 🤲 Allah Never Tires of Forgiving The speaker shares hadith where a servant sins, repents, and Allah continues forgiving them as long as they keep returning. This is not a license to sin — it is a door of mercy for the struggling believer. 📜 The Hadith of the Card (Bitaqah) One of the most astonishing reminders is the Hadith of the Card: A man comes with heavy books of sins — yet one small card containing the Shahadah outweighs them all. This shows the عظَمة of Tawheed and the vastness of Allah’s mercy. ⚠️ A Warning Against False Hope Hope is essential — but a believer must not plan sin while assuming repentance is guaranteed. No one is promised tomorrow. But if you slip while struggling… Never despair Keep seeking forgiveness Keep returning Keep fighting until you meet Allah Allah’s door remains open until death. May Allah make us among those who never lose hope, who repent sincerely, and who meet Him with hearts full of tawheed and mercy. Āmīn.
