Po polsku ~ In English: 30 lat minęło od tej emocjonującej i ekscytującej dla autora video sprawy – korespondencji z pieśniarką Wierą Gran, która w tamtych latach była już artystką generalnie nieznaną, czy to dla krajowej czy zagranicznej publiczności, za wyjątkiem garstki entuzjastów tematu. Dziś już można mieć dystans do tamtych spraw: Wiera Gran zamknęła oczy i odzyskała po latach milczenia sławę. Ale wówczas, nowy kontakt niósł w sobie nadzieję jakiegoś powrotu dla niej i tak się też w tym przypadku stało: gwiazda minionego czasu na emigracji i znacznie młodszy od niej, jej wielbiciel w kraju ofiarowali sobie sporo wzajemnej uwagi. Obfitość tej korespondencji może zadziwiać – rozległe epistoły, odręczne i w maszynopisach, pełne życia, zarówno przeszłego jak i wówczas aktualnego, temperamentu, błyskotliwości i – złośliwości. Interesująca literatura, po latach, momentami pasjonująca. O czym autorka pisząc na bieżąco dobrze wiedziała. Fragmenty ich udostępniam obecnie publicznie – z wyborem tych partii, które dotyczą artystów z którymi Wiera Gran miała kontakt – bliższy lub dalszy. Pisząc o innych, pisze ona jednocześnie o swoim życiu i oczywiście o sobie. To w sumie było dla niej najważniejsze. Edycja ma formę video, więc ma też dźwięk: francuskie nagranie Very(!) Gran z drugiej połowy lat 1950. Treść listów pozostaje bez tłumaczenia na język obcy – wymagałoby to zdolności rafinowanego tłumacza literatury. …………………………………………………………………………………………………… 30 years have passed since this emotional and exciting case for the author of the video – correspondence with the singer Wiera Gran, who in those years was an artist generally unknown to both domestic and foreign audiences, except for a handful of enthusiasts of the subject. Today we can distance ourselves from those matters: Wiera Gran closed her eyes and regained her fame after years of silence. But at that time, a new contact carried the hope of some kind of return for her, and so it happened in that case: a star of the past in exile and her much younger admirer in the country offered each other a lot of mutual attention. One may be surprised by the abundance of this correspondence – extensive epistles, handwritten and typewritten, full of life, both past and present, temperament, brilliance and – malice. Interesting literature, and at times fascinating after all these years. Which the sender, when writing, was well aware of. I am now making fragments of them publicly available – with a selection of those passages that concern artists with whom Wiera Gran had contact – closer or more distant. When writing about other people, she is of course simultaneously writing about her life and herself. That was the most important thing for her, though. The edition is in video form, so it also has sound: a French recording of Vera(!) Gran from the second half of the 1950s.
