Oiling A Set Of Greenland Kayak Paddles

In this video, I am applying the first coat of oil on a new set of Greenland Kayak Paddles. One of my favourite parts of paddle building is putting on the first coat of finish. This is when you see what the paddles are really going to look like. When the oil goes on, you can see the colour of the wood, and the grain, really start to stand out. This will be the first coat of several on these two new paddles. The paddles themselves, these ones are made from 11 strips of wood each.
