#ghana #ivorycoast In this video, I explored the potential of Alan language as a medium of Instruction in Ghana and Ivory Coast schools. The Akan Language is the most widely spoken indigenous language in Ghana. Should Twi become Ghana’s official language and medium of instruction in primary schools? The market women, farmers, fishermen in the informal economy in Ghana are the ones who drive the economy and commerce. Most don’t speak English and only speak the indigenous language to their children at home. When these children get to school English or French is used by teachers for teaching them. There is research that has been conducted which proves that children learn faster and better when native or mothers tongue is used to teach them. Ghana and Ivory Coast in West Africa can learn from Switzerland and Andorra who have various languages in various regions as a medium of instruction in their education systems. In Ghana for example, they could have Twi in one area and Ewe or other languages in the areas where most speakers are. Using the mother tongue as a medium of instruction in school will also help preserve the heritage and identity in these languages. ►Resources I use to create my Videos Camera - Canon M50 - https://amzn.to/3B0azJs Computer - MacBook - https://amzn.to/3syUgQN Microphone - Blue Yeti - https://amzn.to/2XBgEgQ Wireless Microphone - Rode Go II - https://amzn.to/3kaweaR Light - https://amzn.to/3j2dJpU ►Learn about entrepreneurship on my blog https://abundanceaware.com/ ►I've written two books. .700 facts about Africa https://amzn.to/3D82FPS .
