Kilumi Dance of the Kamba People

Kilumi Dance which used Kithembe Drum was danced after sacrifice in the Shrine - the word Kithembe is derived from the word Kuthemba. It was big drum played as one sat on it - the dance involved many drums, hand and foot jingles and whistles. Here we present NZIOKA WA KISINGU he who was invited by the founding father of these Nation Mzee Jomo Kenyatta to play for him when Kenya attained Independence. At 88 years he is still going strong. Here he rehearses for the big Kamba Traditional Music Extravanganza coming soon at the Akamba Cultural Center and Museum - do not miss the day there will be KIILI, MBENI,KILUMI,KINZE and KILUI dances that day.
