The Starting Line: Winter Training 2026

Spread over 5 sessions throughout the winter a hardy group of our sailors have been training. No matter the weather they've persevered, improving key skills and techniques ahead of the main sailing season. Led by Matt Gardiner the training has been absolutely amazing; keeping the momentum and ensuring skills don't get rusty. The best part of the training has been the group taking part - everyone supports each-other no matter the skill level or experience. Rigging when hands and kit are frozen is made much easier when everyone helps out. Come on down to Rudyard Lake Sailing club and have a go. We run regular discover sailing courses and level 1 RYA courses, which are perfect for dipping your toe into sailing and there's loads of people to help out if your ready for taking that first step.
