Backpacking Asia Ep.7 - Exploring Kota Bharu, Malaysia

After leaving the rainforest area of Taman Negara, we jumped on an awesome early morning train through the jungle, heading North East to the coastal city of Kota Bharu. Kota Bharu seems a much more conservative Muslim dominant area, and it is amazing how strongly you feel that compared to other areas which have stronger mix of Chinese and Indian population. Such a unique country. We did not spend a lot of time here, I think being a little out of season meant most things were not yet up and running, but we still got to see some cools street art, visit a cool market, see some giant lizards and experience the incredible warmth and friendliness of the locals. Malaysia is such a melting pot of cultures and people, it makes it really unique to explore.
