Hibben throwing knives are well balanced knives which are good for self defense in close quarters. If you are in the wilderness, this would be a good defense against medium and small sized animals with some practice as a throwing knife or as a blade in hand. Once you get the hang of throwing the knives you would be able to use these weapons as a hunting tool for close proximity hunting. Even if the blade does not penetrate the animal you are hunting, the weight of the knife would be able to cause enough trauma to the animal to kill it, if thrown hard enough and this would only apply to smaller game such as rabbits and squirrels, etc. If you decide you like the technique of a full rotation, make sure at longer and shorter distances you always do one rotation no matter the distance. More than one rotation will cause you to be inconsistent in your throwing and it will be just a game of luck rather then skill. If you choose the no spin method (recommended) you will find it hard at first to have no spin but once you get it you will be laughing. You will see that you will be more consistent at sticking the knife as it is easier to control the no spin at various distances as opposed to adjusting the rotation of the blade for each distance. Just like anything work on technique and not power, don't throw it as hard as you can until you get the technique down. Start close to your target and once you're good at that distance, back up and keep doing so. Also remember safety first, and i don't recommend throwing knives at living trees. And remember...
