Disney Destiny Embarkation Day 🚢✨ Boarding, First Impressions & Sail Away | Disney Cruise Line

It’s embarkation day on Disney Destiny — and our cruise adventure officially begins. 🚢✨ After driving down from Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort, we head to Fort Lauderdale to board Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, but not before making a stop at Port Canaveral to see Disney Adventure — which features in the opening of this vlog as a teaser of what’s still to come. We arrive at the terminal around 11:30am with a Port Arrival Time of 11:45, boarding as Group 6 after waiting for friends in Group 2 (Pearl members… lucky them). Boarding itself is smooth and well managed, although we lose some time early on while sorting a reservation onboard. This embarkation is different for us — for the first time, we choose a sit-down lunch rather than Marceline Market, giving us a calmer start to the cruise (even if it takes a little longer than planned). Our first impressions of Disney Destiny are nothing short of stunning. The Grand Hall is beautifully themed, with incredible Wakanda and vibranium-inspired design, and the moment we see the Vibranium chandelier is a genuine wow moment. Destiny feels busy, but never crowded — likely helped by the ship not being completely full — and theming-wise, it’s right up there with Treasure, and comfortably ahead of Wish in terms of immersion. The day builds towards a powerful sail away party, featuring Spider-Man, with a slightly different feel to Treasure but still carrying that emotionally charged Disney Cruise Line energy.
