Mining Large Emeralds out of large Boulders at the old Crabtree Mine of North Carolina the Jersey Brothers or New York Boy that hunt Herkimer Diamonds with there Sledge hammers and Hardened Chisels they were able to crack ^ foot by 4 Foot Boulders in about a Half an Hour Hot dam that was as quick as some power tools no gas tools William found a large Emerald with one hit on the boulder when arriving at the mine for only a half hour then Nick and William when to town on the boulder to find some more small Emeralds the large Emerald holding Boulder lots of times do not Carry Emeralds but some times you get luck for the work put in and William had his first time of luck on the Crabtree Mine these Guys use Large hardened Chisels and wedges make holes in the Boulders By Chiseling and them but the wedges in and in no time the Human sized Boulders Crack in Half I have never seen Boulder crack this quick in my live and it was done with had tools. there are still some very good Green emerald to be found from the old Crabtree mine not like the hays day from years ago but with lots of hard work you can still find these rare Blue green gems from North Carolina we also found so Yellow Beryl but these yellow gems are hard to find to but some are also of the gem Quality there is still Plenty of Black Tourmaline some brown and garnets By the 100s i seem to dig four times longer to find very small Emeralds but if I go 4 to 8 hours hard digging i will find a nice Green Emerald and then I enjoy the Scenery of the Great Smoky Mountains and the small holding Pound and the old Mine Tailing piles Good luck Hunting and Prospecting and Rock Hounding the Crabtree Mine Big Tim
