Continuing a series on Tenrikyo, Dr. Kegan Chandler introduces the religion's three scriptures (sangenten): the Mikagura-uta, the Ofudesaki, and the Osashizu, exploring their history and significance in the Tenrikyo tradition. He explores also the subject of divine possession, and considers how the foundress Nakayama Miki is understood to have been "possessed" on a theological framework in which "the world is the body of God the Parent." He also explores the concept of divine inspiration/automatic writing in Tenrikyo, and makes a brief comparison with Christian views of the divine inspiration of scripture.
