I shot this video of the Montpelier anti-Trump rally Saturday, April 5 from the steps of the original headquarters of the National Life Insurance Company, now the main office of the Vermont Agency of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Markets. About 1,000 such rallies were held nationwide, including several in Vermont. The State House lawn rally began at noon. As I departed at about 1 PM, the crowds of sign-carrying people continued to stream towards the State House lawn. Sincerely I hope no-one suffered from hypothermia. It was that kind of day. During the video above, Sen. Peter Welch - speaking with more passion than I and a rally attendee standing next to me have ever heard him speak - called Trump 'arrogant' and 'stupid' for his tariff policy.
