उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज में बीते 24 फरवरी को उमेश पाल और उनकी सुरक्षा में तैनात दो पुलिसकर्मियों की हत्या कर दी गई थी। इस हत्याकांड में माफिया अतीक अहमद, उसके भाई अशरफ समेत गिरोह के कई सदस्यों के नाम सामने आए। अतीक के बेटे असद और बमबाज गुड्डू मुस्लिम का सीसीटीवी भी सामने आया। योगी सरकार में हुए इस हत्याकांड से प्रदेश ही नहीं बल्कि पूरे देश में सनसनी फैल गई थी। इसके बाद से लगातार यूपी एसटीएफ और पुलिस इसमें शामिल सभी बदमाशों की तलाश में जुट गई। इस बीच गुरुवार को झांसी में असद और उसके साथी शूटर गुलाम को यूपी एसटीएफ ने एनकाउंटर में मार गिराया। जिस टीम ने दोनों माफिया को ढेर किया, उसे लीड कर रहे थे- अमिताभ यश। ये वही अफसर हैं, जिनके नाम 150 से ज्यादा अपराधियों को ढेर करने का रेकॉर्ड दर्ज है। कुख्यात विकास दुबे के गैंग को भी तहत-नहस करने का काम अमिताभ यश की अगुवाई में ही किया गया था। Umesh Pal and two policemen posted under his security were murdered on February 24 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Amitabh Yash is an IPS officer of the year 1996 batch, who is known as 'Encounter Specialist'. Apart from this, he has already killed many miscreants. Perhaps this is also the reason why the Yogi government entrusted him with the responsibility of catching the fugitives of this massacre.
