This looks like a large drop of water but it’s actually a cake! It's called Mizu Shingen Mochi and it's so delicate it needs to be consumed in less than 30 minutes, after which it will turn into a sweet puddle of water! So what holds it together? Ancient Magic? The Force? Gelatin? Find out below !(๑'ᴗ'๑)b♡ We are always updating our blog! We received a lot of comments requesting us to try to make that big summer treat Mizu Shingen. This treat comes from Yamanashi's Kinseiken. The real Mizu Shingen is made with just water, sugar, and kanten. We tried making it with kanten, but we were unable to recreate that translucent water look. So we tried making it with agar. If you're making it with kanten you need 450cc water, 11g granulated sugar, and ½tsp kanten (1g). Maybe kanten has a closer texture to what we're looking for. Please try making this wonderful water treat for yourself. Ingredients Water Granulated Sugar Agar Brown Sugar Syrup (kokumitsu) Soybean Flour (kinako) Recipe 1.Put 12g granulated sugar and 15g agar in a pot and mix. 2.Add 500cc water little by little, mixing in between. This is important because agar does not dissolve easily. 3.Dissolve the agar completely in the boiling hot water. 4.Pour it into the sphere mold. 5.Chill it in a refrigerator. 6.Remove it from the mold after it hardens and cover it with brown sugar syrup and soybean flour. 7.Please eat while being one with the Force.
