"Rehab exercise for children with cerebral palsy is fun? You're kidding, right?" Dr. Sanjay Parmar There is a need for innovation to improve compliance and accessibility of rehabilitation programs for young children with sensor-motor impairments due to neuro-developmental disorders. A low-cost computer game-assisted rehabilitation platform (GRP) has been developed to address this need. With the novel application of a miniature inertial computer mouse and taking advantage of the wide variety of computer games, the GRP can provide high-effective engaging exercises for rehabilitation of upper extremity motor skills, as well as balance and locomotion training.
