Vespa Ride - Testing My New Insta360 X4

I just purchased the Insta360 X4 camera after much deliberation between this and the DJI Action 4. The 360 recording is what sold me, but after a weekend of testing I'm not sure I made the right decision. Here's my initial thoughts. First, this is my first action camera and I found it to not be very user friendly to new users. It didn't come with any detailed user guides, so I have to learn everything from online sources. I also purchased the premium lens guards which I'm not impressed by. A bunch of my recordings had horrible lens flair. The camera was set to the correct lens guard setting. I tried editing my clips with the phone app, but the feature I was trying to use didn't work, so I have to use the desktop app to set keyframes. The batteries also don't last long when filming in 8k. Lastly, this is advertised as an action camera, but they recommend lens guards because the lenses scratch easily, they also say it's waterproof, but yet recommend using the waterproof case. So, is it really an action camera? All that being said, I am a new user and I will give it some time before I make a final judgement.
