Thousands of members from the Delta Unity Group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ika Federal Constituency, Delta State, have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The defection event, held in Agbor, Ika South LGA, was led by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo. They were on hand to receive the new members and rally support for the APC ahead of future political contests. Chiedu Ebie, Co-convener of the Delta Unity Group and Chairman of the NDDC Board, declared that this move means that both local governments in Ika Federal Constituency now stand firmly with the ruling party.
