Public engagement for the 2026 Budget is open until September 7 and we want to hear from you! Metro Vancouver delivers essential services and infrastructure that make our region livable, and is inviting residents to share their input to help shape the 2026 Budget and Five-Year Financial Plan. Your feedback will guide the Metro Vancouver Board in making important decisions that ensure the resilience of Metro Vancouver and its essential services for years to come. The majority of Metro Vancouver’s annual budget goes towards providing high-quality drinking water and managing wastewater for the region. A smaller percentage goes to regional services such as parks, air quality, and regional planning. Budgets require tough decisions, trade-offs, and dialogue. For example, deciding how or whether to defer infrastructure upgrades may shift costs to the future. Additionally, some initiatives come with a higher cost, like ensuring that water released at the end of the liquid waste treatment process is a better quality and healthier for the environment and people. Residents can share their input on a quick online questionnaire, by emailing budgetengagement@metrovancouver.org, or by calling the Information Centre at 604-432-6200. Engagement closes September 7, 2025. More information and survey: https://metrovancouver.org/about-us/b... Feedback from the public will be provided to the Board to support their decision making on direction for the 2026 Budget.
