This is the only complete and fully-functional collection, of the best open-source dramatized audio narration, of the most popular “modern English” Bible version widely accepted by both Catholics and Protestants, with convenient synchronized “read-along” text slides, anywhere on the internet. Templar Mandate to Study Scriptures: The Temple Rule of 1129 AD, as the founding constitutional charter of the Templar Order, mandates that Templars should strive to be “lovers of Truth” with “studious hearts” (Rule 6), “through diligence and study of the Holy Scriptures” (Rule 8), to be “instructed by the commandments of our Lord, for the purpose of divine service” to God (Rule 9). It commands that at all meals “shall be read the Holy Scripture, if possible... those Holy words [which] we must attentively desire and listen” (Rule 24). The later rules ca. 1150 AD further require Templars “to serve God” by “all of one’s study and understanding... and especially to... willingly hear and listen to God’s Holy words” at every opportunity (Rule 279). Thus, the founding Knights Templar gave a permanent ‘standing order’ to continually pursue Biblical studies, and specifically to “listen” to Holy Scriptures being “read” aloud, on a daily basis. The best and most convenient way to fulfill that standing order is by daily audio-visual readings of the Bible (and Apocryphal scriptures), using modern dramatized audio recordings in read-along videos, on desktop or mobile devices. Easy 3-Month Bible Study Plan: The Old Testament audio narration is 65 hours 30 minutes, and the New Testament audio is 19 hours 40 minutes, such that the whole Bible totals about 86 hours of listening time. By listening to and/or viewing this audio-video collection for only “1 hour a day”, you can complete the New Testament in about 3 weeks, the Old Testament in 9 weeks, and the entire Bible in only about 12 weeks. This is a surprisingly convenient way to take in the full Word of God in only about 3 months. Bible for Catholics and Protestants: The English Standard Version (ESV) from 2001 by Crossway is based upon the Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSV-CE) from 1971, which was approved for liturgical use by the Vatican and also the Anglican Church, and widely accepted by Protestants internationally. For the ESV, evangelical Protestant scholars modified approximately 8% of the RSV text from Greek and Aramaic sources, while ensuring compatibility with the Authorized King James Version (AKJV). As a result, this is one of the best “modern English” Bible translations for both Catholics and Protestants, most suitable for inter-denominational Bible studies. The “Video Text” slides are a transcript from the authorized open-source audio recording, visually synchronized with the audio reading as a Fair Use public service, created in 2021 by Free Audio Video Bible (www.freeavbible.com), providing free MP4 video downloads “for home personal use” only. Curated and Restored Full Collection: The need arose to curate and restore this Fair Use collection, because the creator of the open-source audio-video files could not maintain its website’s download functions nor update its YouTube channel (@discipleofthegreatteacher2422) for over 3 years (since 2021), and its published set contains some corrupted MP4 files, and some videos which are missing large portions of the audio soundtrack (e.g. Psalms and Ezekiel). As a public service, in 2024 the Templar Order (knightstemplarorder.org) repaired and preserved the full set of files, using the original sound files directly from the audio creator to replace missing audio portions, re-synchronizing the Video Text slides with the Audio Drama recording, and optimizing the file sizes for storage and downloads. Legal “Fair Use” Protected by Law: The Templar Order is permitted to lawfully share copies of third-party audio and visual recordings of historical texts (which are proprietary derivative works), privately among its membership or to individuals, under the “Fair Use” doctrine of Copyright law, for non-commercial, scholarly, educational and cultural use (17 US Code §107; UK Copyright Act 1988 §107). Under international law, Fair Use requires giving attribution credits of the source and performer (1979 Berne Convention, Article 10). Proper attribution credits to the performers and producers of these derivative works, supporting such lawful Fair Use, are provided in detail in this introduction.
