Maestro of Kathak, Pandit Birju Maharaj took a lec-dem session on Indian Classical music for AU students on January 3rd 2013. The occasion was also graced by Saraswati Sen, the maestro's senior most disciples and dance partner for more than four decades. They together, mesmerised students with fascinating history of Classical music and Kathak in India. Panditji lent the audience with an artist's lens to view music in mundane things in the environment, like a sparrow feeding its off springs. Panditji's extempore music composition and Saraswati's dance created a unique jugalbandi of grace and finesse that enthralled the audience.
