Large Uterine Fibroid- An Atypical Case

This video shows the uterus. You can appreciate a small, well-defined, oval shaped fibroid in the posterior uterine wall. It is a solid lesion with hypoechoic or black echotexture . On Color doppler mild blood flow is seen in it. There is a pedicle arising from the uterine fundus, giving attachment to one smaller and other very large fibroid. This was reaching patients epigastrium and was clinically suspected as Abdominal mass. On color doppler moderate blood flow is seen within the pedicle as well as the fibroids. This is a case of multiple uterine fibroids and a large pedunculated subserosal fibroid . As The patient presented with heavy menstrual bleeding so abdominal hysterectomy was planned. The first picture is taken during the surgery. The second picture shows the post op specimen with 2 large pedunculated fibroids . One larger and one smaller. Histopathology of the post-op specimen confirmed the radiological findings.
