For the last few years camping in the UK really took off, and many people started camping for the first time, so from my observations on different sites, I believe a camping etiquette, is something we should all think about. I am not going to create camping rules, but maybe talk about campground etiquette and what it takes to be a great neighbour. The pet peeve number one for many campers is taking shortcuts across other people's pitches, probably many people will agree that this should be the first point of a camping etiquette. Your pitch is your castle, so one of the camping etiquette rules, could be: keep your pitch in order. To help maintain order for everyone, please do not leave any rubbish or food refuse outside. It will be trashed by foxes, seagulls and other wildlife. Sharing facilities should be included in a campsite etiquette too. Drying clothes is another of campground rules: laundry is not very pretty, so try to keep it discreet and no not damage any branches or shrubs to fix your washing lines. I love bbqs and it is hard to imagine a camping trip without having a bbq, smoke may be annoying to your neighbours.
