What are fitness dailies?

Over the years, since I started doing them in 2020 and since I started sharing on social media, I’ve talked a lot about “fitness dailies,” and this method has garnered some attention. It got to the point where with significant demand for a program, I released a little guide (“The Fitness Dailies”) to support what I do here (you don’t need the guide unless you’re interested in supporting the page, and maybe you want more details and specific breakdowns of specific fitness dailies). Fitness dailies, as I said in the video, are "what got me into fitness.” They helped me build consistency and momentum through a small investment of time per day, which I put into developing specific aspects of my physique each season. Because this is how I approached bodybuilding when I first started - focusing my efforts and not spreading myself thin - I got real tangible results in a few areas, which was serious motivation and became the foundation I built on. I believe, based on my experience, that concentrating your efforts by picking specific aspects of your physique and focusing on developing them one at a time in this way is superior to starting with a full-on diversified weekly workout split. It’s better to get real, tangible results in just a few areas rather than marginal results in all areas in the beginning. In my view, that weekly workout split is something that should be graduated to, which is what I did. I adopted a traditional push-pull-legs workout split only once I had spent developing individual aspects of my physique on their own. It was only after several seasons of this by the time I had done a focused season of fitness dailies on just about each and every aspect of my physique that I rolled it all into a workout split (“The Ultimate Workout Split”). This video was supposed to be a comprehensive summary of the fitness daily method, but there were still things I left out. There are more advantages to increasing the frequency of an exercise and doing it every day. For example, a fantastic mind-muscle connection. Everyone talks about how important a mind-muscle connection is; well, fitness dailies are a fantastic way to get one. One of the most difficult things in the gym is not necessarily the effort and energy required, but properly engaging the right muscles to get the most out of an exercise. This can only be achieved through repetition. What are fitness dailies but the ultimate repetition? If you work a wide variety of exercises, you don’t learn them and understand them as deeply. However, if you do the same exercise over and over again, this is not the case. You come to deeply understand it and iron out a strong mind-muscle connection in the process! So this is another reason fitness dailies are good for the veteran, in addition to the newcomer. I still hit fitness dailies every season on top of my workout split. Even the best workout split will inevitably overlook something. For example, as I’m writing this, I’ve implemented a season of 3-minute daily shrugs for the summer season because I’ve noticed my traps are lacking. I will do this and restart a season of 10-minute day leg raises because it’s time to get aesthetic for the beach! Wether you are a fitness newcomer who just needs to get some consistency and your first noobie gains, or like me you’ve been training for 8 years and you want to pick up the slack areas you are lacking or figure out an exercise you are struggling with, there is no reason EVERYONE should be doing at least one fitness daily per seasons. No one doesn’t have 5 minutes to spare (especially for a nice payoff in a few months), and no one doesn’t have a couple of areas they could target for some growth. Even if you’re not into bodybuilding. For Pete’s sake, develop a little mobility with a small daily investment! If you’re stiff, just work on a daily forward fold and enjoy touching your toes in a few months!! One final note: a “season” of fitness dailies is 90 days because in my experience a little less than 90 days is the minimum amount of time it takes to to see progress, and a little more than 90 days could potentially put you into diminishing returns, especially with some of the bigger fitness dailies that involve big compound exercises. That being said, if you are still seeing progress after 90 days or you are simply enjoying a particular daily, nothing is stopping you from rolling it over into the next season. Just remember the only rule: every day, no matter what, for 90 days. 90 days is a great number. It can follow the financial or solar calendar. It fits neatly into 365 4 times with a little change: 5 days, which is perfect because I like to take a day or two at the end of each season to assess and consider my plans for my next season.
