New Vistas in Foregut and Bariatric Surgical Endoscopy and ERCP in 2021 and Beyond

Endoscopic approaches using flexible gastrointestinal endoscopy have emerged as a reliable alternative to traditional surgical methods. Advanced endoscopic procedures such as bariatric surgical endoscopy serve as a promising alternative for the management of bariatric patients. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), another promising endoscopic procedure, is useful for diagnosing and managing biliary and pancreatic diseases. However, such procedures require specialized skill sets and expertise. Therefore, healthcare professionals should have a sound knowledge of such endoscopic procedures and their associated complications for better therapeutic outcomes.
