My content is not going to be suitable for everyone, so please use your self discernment before applying any video content in your own life. After hundreds of videos and podcast episodes on binge eating recovery, I wanted to bring together my best advice in one place — and offer you a new framework for understanding recovery that’s both compassionate and practical. In this video, I share six powerful insights that changed everything for me (and for my clients): It’s not your fault. Whether your binges were triggered by dieting or emotional regulation, you didn’t choose this — you fell into a trap that has its own momentum. Change your goal. Focus less on weight or “health,” and more on appetite regulation — learning to bring your appetite into balance rather than fighting it. Challenge all-or-nothing thinking. Recovery happens in the grey area — not in perfection. Let go of “tomorrow thinking.” Real change starts in the present moment, not the next fresh start. Think in states, not stages. You’re not back at square one — you’re just moving between State A (regulated) and State B (dysregulated), and recovery is about learning how to get back to State A more easily. Be consistent with your recovery content. Stop bouncing between food-freedom and abstinence models — choose one approach and give it time to work. This is the most comprehensive video I’ve made on how to stop binge eating — and my hope is that it helps you understand your journey in a more forgiving, hopeful way.
