This Data Salon presentation examines contemporary digital practice in museums through the lens of Megan Lawrence's 2025 AMaGA International Digital Residency, which included participation in the Belvedere Summer School in Vienna and visits with counterparts at leading UK cultural institutions. Drawing on intensive study across three weeks, this research explores the concept of 'post-digital museum experience' - a paradigm shift where digital technology is no longer a separate entity but deeply embedded in all museum experiences. The insights reveal that the GLAM sector has moved beyond foundational questions of digital implementation towards maturity in digital practice, while simultaneously identifying persistent challenges in accessibility, sustainability, and institutional capacity. Key findings emphasise the critical importance of multi-sensory documentation, embedded accessibility design, and the recognition that digital infrastructure requires continuous investment rather than one-time implementation. This research was facilitated by the Australian Museums and Galleries Association (AMaGA), Monash Art, Design and Architecture (MADA), the Institute for Digital Culture (University of Leicester), and the Belvedere Research Centre. The residency was supported by the Australian Government through Creative Australia. Sincere thanks to the Australian Museum's executive leadership and digital team for their support. Particular thanks to Professor Ross Parry and Dr Vince Dziekan, and the many museum professionals who generously shared their time and expertise during the residency. Thanks also to fellow residents Edwina Green and Janice Falsone for their friendship throughout the program.
