Good Morning YT Family! This Sunday, Pastor Wise preaches from Luke 13.10–17, reminding us why we truly ought to thank God for Sunday . This message challenges us to move beyond church as usual and experience church as unusual —a place where real transformation happens when we encounter Jesus in worship. Pastor Wise centers the sermon on the woman who had been bound by a disabling spirit for eighteen years. Despite her pain, weariness, and brokenness, she still made her way into the house of the Lord. When Jesus saw her, He did not focus on her condition or her reputation—He saw her . In His presence, what had been bent out of shape for years was made whole. This message reminds us that Sunday is not about routine or tradition, but about showing up to worship expecting Jesus to straighten out what life has bent. Many people attend church consistently yet leave the same way they came—burdened, broken, and weary. Pastor Wise teaches that this passage shows us how to ensure that every worship experience becomes an encounter with Jesus that leads to healing, deliverance, and transformation. Pastor Wise breaks down how we receive what we need from the Lord through two key points: 1. Come as you are: Pastor Wise explains that the woman’s condition had both a physical and spiritual dimension, reminding us that many of the struggles we face are deeper than what appears on the surface. Even in her broken state, she pressed her way to worship. This teaches us to be mindful of how we judge others in church—we never know what it took for someone to make it through the doors. Jesus did not see her bondage; He saw her . While religious people focused on what was wrong with her, Jesus focused on who she was. Pastor Wise challenges us to stop pretending, stop faking, and stop putting on a front in worship. Church is not for perfect people—it is the place where Jesus puts broken lives back together. When we show up honestly and transparently, Jesus meets us right where we are. 2. Don’t leave the way you came: Pastor Wise highlights that although healing on the Sabbath was considered unlawful, the woman did not allow religious rules or people’s opinions to stop her from receiving what she needed from Jesus. The synagogue ruler prioritized holiness over wholeness, but Jesus prioritized making the woman whole. This point calls believers to ignore distractions, religious criticism, and the fear of being judged in worship. People who don’t have the power to heal, save, or deliver you should not have the power to keep you from engaging with Jesus. When we focus fully on Christ and press into His presence, we refuse to leave worship the same way we entered it. Pastor Wise concludes with a powerful reminder of why Sunday matters most. Friday brought the cross, Saturday brought silence, but Sunday brought resurrection power. Because Jesus got up, healing is possible, freedom is available, and salvation is still being offered. Sunday stands as a reminder that no matter what has us bent, bound, or broken, Jesus has the power to straighten us out. Weekly Take Away: Thank God for Sunday. Stay warm and stay safe, family.
