❄️ This is Episode 5 of my Fjällräven Polar 2025 series — Day 2 of the Arctic expedition, where the distance gets longer, the cold gets real, and teamwork truly matters. We woke up early around 6:20 AM at Camp Väkkärä, drying our sleeping bags on top of the tents and boiling snow for the first time to prepare breakfast. After packing up camp, we set off at 9:40 AM, traveling from Camp Väkkärä to Camp Sebu, covering approximately 33 kilometers in 2 hours and 20 minutes. The route took us across multiple frozen lakes and sections of slushy ice. I had my first fall of the expedition — and learned very quickly that the dogs don’t stop for you. I had to chase the sled for nearly 100 meters before it finally slowed down. We arrived at the second campsite around 12 PM, settled the dogs, pitched our tents, and had lunch. In the afternoon, we attended a fire-making workshop — learning how to build and maintain a fire in Arctic conditions. Back at camp, we practiced what we learned. Together with Ditha, we built a snow cushion around our campfire and eventually succeeded after several attempts. I even managed to cut my finger during the process — nothing serious, just part of the learning curve. Using the fire we built ourselves, we cooked smoked reindeer meat with bread while snow fell around us in freezing temperatures. It was one of the most satisfying meals of the journey. And just before turning in for the night, we were rewarded once again with a breathtaking display of Aurora Borealis — two nights in a row. 🎥 In this episode: • Day 2 route: Camp Väkkärä → Camp Sebu • 33km of dog sledding across frozen lakes • First fall on the sled • Boiling snow & Arctic camp routines • Fire-making workshop & teamwork • Cooking over open fire in the snow • Night 2 of Northern Lights ➜ Next Episode: Day 3 — longer distance, official photo shoot, building snow walls, and sleeping outside with only a sleeping bag under the Arctic sky. 👉 Watch Episode 1, 2, 3, and 4 for the full story Episode 1: What is Fjällräven Polar? | How I Finally Made It To Fjällräven Polar 2025 • What is Fjällräven Polar? | How I Finally ...
