from Daniel Rodriguez' album, 'In The Presence' released in 2005 which showcases the singer's full-bodied tenor in a selection of classical renditions of inspirational song. 'Pie Jesu' is an Andrew Lloyd Webber classic which combines traditional 'Pie Jesu' text with 'Agnus Dei.' It is quite a revelation to hear Lea Salonga use her lyric soprano voice in this song which is a Sarah Brightman original. Apart from this, she also did a duet of 'Panis Angelicus' with Daniel Rodriguez in the same album. It's interesting to note that it wasn't in the original plan that Lea would sing this song-- Daniel only knew that they would record 'Panis Angelicus.' While in the studio, he called her to ask if she could do 'Pie Jesu'. She came and was able to record one of the most beautiful versions of the classic that only very few are aware of. 'Pie Jesu'' is a prayer for our dearly departed. There is an English translation of the words at the lower righthand of the video.
