How to change a press in wheel bearing without a press. In this video I'm going to show you how to change a very common type of automotive wheel bearing. The press in type. These bearings are used in a lot of front wheel drive vehicles, small cars, minivans, and SUVs. These bearings are common across all different brands of cars and the procedure to change them is pretty similar. You need to remove the wheel and tire, the CV shaft from the wheel hub. Remove the brake caliper and the brake rotor. Next, install the wheel hub adapter onto the wheel hub and use the slide hammer to remove the wheel hub. Remove the snap ring holding in the bearing, using the press kit press out the old wheel bearing, and press in the new wheel bearing. Using the wheel bearing press it press in the hub. Reassemble the brakes and install the wheel and enjoy!
