Iran Showcases Upgraded Bavar-373 Air Defense System During Drills. Iran unveiled an upgraded version of its domestically-developed Bavar-373 air defense missile system during the “Eqtedar” military drills in the central province of Isfahan.The modernized Bavar-373 launcher features a new integrated radar system that allows it to independently track targets. During the exercises, the Bavar-373 engaged and downed an adversary aircraft in the Kavir desert while operating alongside a Russian-made S-300, Iranian state news media reported. The combined use of the S-300 and Bavar-373 air defense systems reportedly improves the ability to counter high-altitude threats.
