https://papastronsay.blogspot.com/ https://papastronsay.com/benefactor/ Is today Sunday, February 15, 2026 — Quinquagesima Sunday — as we stand at the threshold of Lent? In today’s sermon, we reflect on: The Roman Martyrology and the holy martyrs The powerful Marian counsel of St. Bernard of Clairvaux: “In dangers, in doubts, in difficulties, think of Mary.” The delusions of the devil that lead souls into sin The danger of presuming on God’s mercy The necessity of prayer to overcome temptation St. Paul’s hymn to Charity (1 Corinthians 13) The healing of the blind man: “Lord, that I may see.” True supernatural charity as the soul of all good works Preparation for Lent with purity of intention Generosity for the souls in Purgatory As we prepare to enter Lent, Holy Mother Church calls us to examine ourselves: Do we truly possess charity? Do we presume on confession tomorrow? Are we spiritually blind in some area of our life? Without prayer, we are weak. Without charity, even great works are empty. Without grace, we fall into the deceits of the enemy. But with Our Lady as guide, we shall not go astray. Let us cry out with perseverance: “Lord, that I may see.”
