Ice Fishing Trial Lake | High Uinta Mountains in UT

We head up Mirror Lake Highway 150 into the Uinta Mountains for some December ice fishing on the hard deck. It's good to get up here while you can with the highway still being open, with a low amount of snow coming in so far this Winter. The roads are clear right now and in fantastic condition and the bite it hot! We hit Trial Lake in this video for 30+ Tiger and Rainbow Trout in just over 3 hours of fishing. The Uintas are out favorite spot in Utah and it's always a treat to be able to get up and explore them at this point in the winter season. Conditions were fantastic with 5-6 inches of ice with minimal snow and no slush on top. The sun was shining with temps around 20-30 degrees and almost no wind. The lower elevation parts of the mountain range have very little snow still with brown ground popping through prominently almost the whole drive in. The hot bait was a blue and pink striped tungsten tipped with a clam jammi maki and a mealworm. Fished 16 FOW with most bites coming between 4--10 feet on aggressive jigging action.
