Pelvic organ prolapse, a condition where the uterus slips out of its position, is a common problem in women. It can cause feelings of discomfort, stress and isolation. That is why we have teamed up with Dr. Parisa Rezaiefar, a clinician and education at the Bruyere Academic Family Health Team, to teach you about pelvic organ prolapse. In this video, Dr. Rezaiefar breaks down this complex topic into simple terms, and guides to understanding this important issue. She will walk you through its symptoms, causes and strategies to manage and/or prevent it. Speaker Bio: Dr. Parisa Rezaiefar is a family physician at the Bruyere Academic Family Health Team in Ottawa, Ontario. She is also an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa, where she completed her residency in family medicine as well. As a clinician-teacher, Dr. Rezaiefar is passionate about caring for her patients and medical education. Among her areas of interest is developing effectives ways of teaching women’s health procedural skills through technology and simulation. She was awarded the Medical Council of Canada’s W. Dale Dauphinee Fellowship in 2019 to pursue this innovative project. In her free time, Dr. Rezaiefar enjoys cooking, hiking, skiing, biking - but most of all, spending time with her family.
