On Tuesday, Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla said one of the heads of Civil Protection, an organization operating in Serb-majority areas of northern Kosovo, was arrested. The Kosovar government had accused the group of engaging in criminal activity which “for years has terrorized our citizens.” The minister identified the person arrested as Milun Milenkovic-Llune. After he was taken into custody, a small group of Serbs gathered in North Mitrovica hurled objects at police, according to Kosovar media. Tensions in Kosovo flared anew late last month, including violent clashes between Kosovo police and NATO-led peacekeepers on one side and local Serbs on the other, leaving dozens injured on both sides. The tensions escalated when Kosovo police seized local municipality buildings in northern Kosovo, where Serbs represent a majority, to install ethnic Albanian mayors who were elected in a local election in April after Serbs overwhelmingly boycotted the vote. =========================================================== Clients are reminded to adhere to all listed restrictions and to check the terms of their licence agreements.
