Turkman Gate Violence: 5 Arrested After Stone Pelting During Court-Ordered Demolition| Ground Report

A police and MCD demolition team faced stone pelting while executing Delhi High Court orders to remove illegal encroachments near the Faiz-e-Ilahi mosque. Amit Bharadwaj noted, ‘Quite early in the morning when I spoke to DCP Nithin... he had said that there are individuals who have been zeroed down and identification process is being carried out.’ Following the incident, which left several police personnel injured, including Head Constable Jai Singh and Constable Vikram Ravindra, an FIR was registered at the Chandni Mahal police station. Five individuals—Muhammad Shahnawaz, Muhammad Arif, Muhammad Kasif, Muhammad Kaif, and Muhammad Adnan—have been officially arrested. The reporter highlighted that misinformation regarding the mosque's safety triggered the mob.
