The minister emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, and positioning Indian Railways as a global leader. In his address, Vaishnaw underscored the significant strides made in railway exports, a key highlight of the budget. He revealed that India is now exporting metro coaches to Australia, bogies to the UK, Saudi Arabia, France, and Australia, and propulsion systems to countries including France, Mexico, Romania, Spain, Germany, and Italy. Passenger coaches are being supplied to Mozambique, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, while locomotives are reaching Mozambique, Senegal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and Bangladesh. “This is a testament to the growing capabilities of Indian manufacturing and the trust global markets have in our products,” the minister remarked. Looking to the future, Vaishnaw announced that over 100 locomotives from Marhowra in Bihar’s Saran district will soon be exported, showcasing ‘Made in Bihar’ technology worldwide. He also revealed plans for Tamil Nadu to produce and export forged wheels, further expanding India’s railway export portfolio. The minister highlighted the budget’s focus on strengthening domestic railway infrastructure, with increased allocations for modernization, safety enhancements, and electrification projects. He assured the house that these initiatives would improve passenger experience and freight efficiency while creating jobs and boosting economic growth. Vaishnaw’s reply in the Rajya Sabha reaffirmed the government’s vision of transforming Indian Railways into a world-class network, balancing domestic development with an expanding global presence.
