(22 Apr 2017) DAY TWO OF PAKISTAN FASHION WEEK FEATURES RIZWAN BEYG, HSY AND BUNTO KAZMI Designers Rizwan Beyg, HSY and Bunto Kazmi unveiled their luxury prêt collections loud applause Friday (21 APRIL 2017), on day two of the three-day Spring/Summer 2017 fashion week in Karachi. Rizwan Beyg, one of the biggest names of Pakistani fashion, unveiled his luxury prêt collection titled Lace Couture. Reflective of Beyg's signature style, the lace motif was enhanced by puffed sleeves and pointed collars; and skirts and trousers with the touch of Valentino bow. "We used a lot of 3D effects like the 3D flowers on it. We used linen, we used net, we used cotton, we used chiffon. We used a variety of fabric but the color palette brought it all together," Beyg said. Hassan Sheheryar Yasin or HSY was the other show-stopper with his collection Love Letters. "The entire collection is organically dyed in tea or in coffee. It was, you know, beautiful, pure organza, like love, the way it is; when it is raw, where it is pure; where it engulfs you in its entirety. That's what the entire collection was about," HSY said. "It's loose kaftans and loose silhouettes for the woman who wants to wear something in the summer and look chic. It's also price point conscious as well. We wanted to make sure the collection was made for the millennial of today but also for the older age, who want to be able to wear something but not spend a fortune necessarily just buying prêt." Bunto Kazmi, considered by many as the pioneers of Pakistan's fashion industry and is globally known for her heavily embellished and intricately detailed bridal wear, showcased a luxury prêt line for the first time. It was welcomed by fashionistas and attendees in equal measure. "Bunto Kazmi – it was very nice to see that she did a line which was less formal. So it was something like you could probably wear at a Mehendi (wedding event) or an evening. It was really nice to see to something probably a little affordable as well because she is very expensive," said Mariam Azmi, a stylist who was attending the show. Others to showcase their collections included Adnan Pardesy, Faiza Samee, Cotton & Cotton and Gul Ahmed. "Rizwan Beyg was, you know, flamboyant. He worked with lace. That is his signature whites and stuff. So that was very beautiful and spellbinding. I loved Hassan Sheheryar Yasin's collection because it was very different from what he usually does," said journalist Zurrain Imam. Karachi's Spring/Summer 2017 Fashion Week ends on April 22.
