Thousands of beachgoers flock to various Cape Peninsula beaches to enjoy themselves as part of New Year celebrations. The City's Metropolitan Department's Police Chief, Wayne le Roux, says the beachgoers and visitors are safe this holiday season. Famlilies, friends and loved ones from across the country as well as tourists are spending the day in the beaches and in municipal pools, to get the first splash of the new year.
