Dinotopia: The Timestone Pirates (Game Boy Advance) - Longplay - No Commentary

This is my longplay of Dinotopia: The Timestone Pirates for the Game Boy Advance played on an Analogue Pocket with an Everdrive-GBA X5 Mini. I recently finished watching the Dinotopia TV miniseries staring Wentworth Miller and it got me in a weird dinosaur mood, so when I saw this in my list of games on the Everdrive, I figured I'd give it a go. The first half of the game is an ok platformer that eventually has a flying segment. After that, the game starts to get kind of miserable to play. The submarine sequence has some of the worst controls I've ever experienced. Then there's the levels before the end boss where you get to ride Krekor. His sprite is so big it almost fills up the entire width of the screen and his hitbox is also insanely large. It's next to impossible to avoid damage at that point with enemies and attacks just suddenly appearing from the edge of the screen. Most of the levels also have this thing where you have to find an egg AND find at least one switch on the ground to open a door or activate an elevator before it lets you exit the level, so I ended up having to backtrack a couple of times. I'd imagine this is somebody's favorite game, but it's definitely not mine. For as wildly popular as the Dinotopia franchise got for a short while during the early 2000's, I would have hoped for a slightly better game in the end. Honestly it would have been at least alright if they did something different with the second half of the game.
