“WAIT” is a cinematic short film created by Crossroads Students that explores what it means to trust God in seasons of stillness, uncertainty, and silence. Inspired by the powerful poem “Wait” by Russell Kelfer, this visual reflection reminds us that God’s delays are never His denials — and that the waiting may be where the deepest work is done. This film was written, directed, and produced by the Crossroads Students team in Vancouver, WA, as part of the teaching series “The Art of Waiting.” Film Credits: Featuring: Dylan Clapp Written & Adapted by: Briana & Jamin Murray Directed by: Jamin Murray Production Assistant: Deona Muehe-Brice Music: “Haven” by Aerian (Licensed via Epidemic Sound) ⸻ About the Film Wait is a visual reflection inspired by the poem “Wait” by Russell Kelfer and created as the culmination of the teaching series The Art of Waiting. At its core, the film seeks to explore the honest, internal struggle that many followers of Jesus experience in seasons of silence—when prayers feel unanswered, direction feels unclear, and the wait feels endless. Set in a secluded natural space, the story unfolds as a symbolic dialogue between a soul and God. What begins as a quiet act of surrender gradually unravels into visible restlessness—frustration, distraction, and the desire to run. These moments echo the familiar tension of longing to trust God while feeling the weight of not knowing what comes next. Through a poetic voiceover, we hear the heart’s cry for understanding, only to encounter the still, steady response: “Child, you must wait.” It is in this moment of divine pause that the film shifts. The scene at the bench becomes a meeting place—a turning point where stillness becomes sacred, and surrender makes space for encounter. Through a montage of creation’s beauty and power, we are reminded of God’s nearness, His sovereignty, and the unseen work He is doing in the waiting. Wait does not offer easy answers. Instead, it invites viewers to sit in the tension of faith and discover that waiting is not wasted—it’s where trust is deepened. This short film is a cinematic meditation on hope, reminding us that God is not distant in our delays, but intimately present—forming, refining, and loving us through it all. ⸻ The Art of Waiting Series 2025 WEEK 1: “Waiting is an Invitation to Trust” Scripture: Psalm 33:1-22 Link: • “Waiting is an Invitation to Trust” with P...
