But what many don’t realize is that his methodology, ideology, and even his credentials are heavily flawed and rejected by traditional Sunni scholars. 🔴 He was not trained in any traditional Islamic institute, and he openly opposed all four madhhabs, particularly Imam Abu Hanifah and the Hanafi school. ⚠️ He declared practices like Tawassul, Mawlid, visiting graves, and honoring Awliya as bid’ah – despite centuries of unanimous acceptance by the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah. 📚 Traditional scholars like Shaykh Saqqaf, Shaykh Nuh Keller, Shaykh Sayyid Yusuf al-Rifa’i, and even non-Barelvi Sunni scholars, refuted him in detail, calling his rulings dangerous, disrespectful, and a distortion of Hadith understanding. He also weakened hundreds of ahadith that the Ummah accepted for centuries – using self-made standards that no traditional muhaddith ever used. Even the great Hanafi jurist Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani criticized Albani’s inconsistencies in Hadith grading. Albani is not a muhaddith in the classical sense.
