Patisserie Christophe Michalak is known as the DzBradley Cooper of the Pastry World, who draws inspiration from comic book superheroes to create cake designs. With our interview with Chef Michalak, he spoke of his experiences as a chef in training and baking techniques. When making a cake, he follows the Four E, "Elegance, Evenness, Emotion, and Efficiency". Following these four principles allows him to focus on his mission to create unique cakes that are lightweight, less gelatinous and less fat. He also gave insight into his busy life producing his own TV show, writing his book, teaching, and spending time with family. At the age of 15, Christophe Michalak started his journey to becoming a pastry master. He became the pastry chef at Plaza Athenee Hotel at 26-years-old. At 30, he was crowned ‘World Champion of Pastry’. At 35, Michalak started to make appearances on TV and to write books. and at 40, he decided to be self-employed and open bakeries.
