We were able to go to Aulani Disney Resort on Oahu, Hawaii. This was the trip of a lifetime with us having the most amazing time. I prepared an itinerary just for the purpose of trying to see all that we wanted to see around the island of Oahu, Hawaii. We had a couple family meetings since we would be a group of 7 including 3 older teens. We wanted to have input on what everyone wanted to see, we knew we would need to rent a van or 2 cars and the itinerary was so that we could have an efficient trek around the island and not doubling back. We needed to know open and closing times of the things we would visit, admission prices, crowd expectations and location in proximity to other sites to see. I love that we rented a van and we could all be together laughing and talking while being driven around the island by my husband - so blessed! We highly recommend the Byodo-In Temple, a Buddhist temple in Ahuimanu, Hawaii. No matter your religious affiliation or belief, this is such a peaceful place to visit, just walking the grounds was so peaceful and calming. Here's a link for more information. As I sort through my massive amount of photos, I'll try to compile another video featuring the Temple : https://byodo-in.com/ The Disney Resort : https://www.disneyaulani.com/about-au... Others things we saw during our trek around the island; Banzai Bowls on the North Shore - Sunset Beach 59-186 Kamehameha Hwy, the location is in the same building as a gas station, don't miss it- they are so good! Matsumoto's Shave Ice in Haleiwa on the North Shore https://matsumotoshaveice.com/ Dole Plantation https://www.doleplantation.com/ Diamond Head https://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dsp/parks/oah... Aloha Stadium - we even got a quick self guided tour after my brother in law had a chat with the manager. The last tour had departed so we thought we missed out, but my brother in law chatted with the manager and we we able to go in and take some pictures. There was a children's soccer league playing so we had to stay only on the upper levels-but it was amazing and we got some stickers and souvenirs! Aloha Stadium Swap Meet - delicious foods were sampled https://alohastadium.hawaii.gov/aloha... Leonard's Bakery Truck - Malasadas - A malasada is a Portuguese doughnut without a hole. We fry generously-sized balls of dough until it’s golden brown on the outside and light & fluffy on the inside. https://leonardshawaii.com/malasadas/ Waimea Bay Rock - jump at your own risk! This isn't an endorsed or promoted activity. http://www.hawaii-vacation-fun.com/wa... Pearl Harbor - at that time we were still able to go to the USS Arizona Memorial. https://www.nps.gov/perl/index.htm Paradise Cove - where we snorkeled and swam with turtles, and this is a short walk from the Aulani resort. Paradise cove is known for it's Luau but we went during the day and the beach is a public beach. https://www.paradisecove.com/about-pa... Do not touch or annoy the animals at Paradise cove - we saw turtles, a myriad of different fishes as well as a monk seal resting on the beach. Everyone was respectful and when the monk seal went into the water, everyone gave it space. Note that there is a current in the cove so it seemed better to stay to the left in the more protected area to not be pulled out to the ocean. Giovanni's Shrimp Truck - North Shore 66-472 Kamehameha Hwy - I recommend this location which at the time we visited, was more open and spacious. We tried another location and it was in a smaller space with many other food trucks and less enjoyable. (the location in Kahuku is the more closed in-food truck area) Reviewing the map at this time, the Giovanni's website still shows 66-472 Kamehameha Hwy but the photos look like a different truck - just fyi. https://giovannisshrimptruck.com/dire... Not to be forgotten - Kualoa Ranch - something for everyone! The site of many movies and TV Shows including Lost; Jurassic Park and many more. Including this visit in your budget is a must. https://www.kualoa.com/ / @momstravelteam
