Meet polygraph examiner Malaravan Ponniah, 60, who has questioned suspects in criminal cases ranging from outrage of modesty to murder, as well as civil disputes such as cheating spouses. Ron spent 32 years in the military where he was trained in the art of forensic polygraph examination by US instructors. After retiring from the military in 2011, he set up his own company and is now one of a handful of commercial polygraph examiners in Singapore. These days, about 60% of Ron’s cases involve cheating spouses. The rest come from law firms and from employers doing pre-employment checks.
