I took this series of pictures to show how amazingly fast some varieties of Palm trees grow! Watch the silver fan palm and the two Royal palms on either side of the silver palm skyrocket toward the sky! Note: 2006 - Silver Palm (Bismark Palm) is tied up after being blown over and almost totally ripped out of the ground during hurricane Frances in the fall of 2004. 2003 and 2010 shows what the palms look like after a winter with a hard freeze (28 degrees and below) which happens once every 6-7 years (most years we don't get lower than the mid to upper 30's on the coldest nights).
