In this video, I decided to reuse a couple of boards that were hidden in my yard for 7 years, one of which had a broken edge that gave me an idea to try something new. I made the top using white and gray cement, reinforcing it with a mesh, I also used Japanese joints to make the legs of the table, I sanded the top with 220 grit sandpaper to expose more of the combination and finished with 400 sandpaper. -Materials and proportions of the cement top: The typical concrete mixture is 1 measure of cement to 3 measures of sand to 1 measure of water, it is the one with the best resistance to cracks. The mixture that I use only has water and cement and the measure is 1 of cement to 1/2 of water more or less, (I did it like this to get the colors to mix well and get a good marbling) I have another video where I explain how to get the marbling in more detail, and the colors are 1 mix of gray to 3 of white or even 4. It is important to highlight that the more liquid (more water) the mix is, the less resistance the concrete will have and, as a consequence, it will crack more, that is why I emphasize when I put the reinforcing mesh that prevents it from breaking into pieces. In addition, the sand also helps prevent cracks. Because the table I made is not that big (62 cm x 42 cm x 3 cm) I have chosen aesthetics over resistance, although it did crack a bit but nothing to worry about.
