Air Filtration Industry Update – Feb 2026 Fake MERV Ratings IQAir Discount & Alzheimer’s Study Hello - we have a bunch of topics to cover in the air filtration industry from last February 2026 - so here we go - starting with #1) Alen - Arby’s has the meats but Alen now has the Scents… alen launched Scentra in February - and I quote, “Scentra is a research-backed fragrance technology engineered to improve your wellbeing. Grounded in neuroscience, our advanced, mood-shifting formulas combine with air purification to rethink what air can do for you. ” - they say it is Free from harmful chemicals, pollutants, and allergens and it is Backed by neuroscience to promote mood-boosting outcomes. They have a few different options- Lush lavender + vanilla, Green Tea + Lime Leaf… and Sunlit Violet + Lemon - and it looks like more scents are apparently on the way - whooo ah I’ll leave a link below. #2) Coway - Coway had a nice discount on the Airmega 400 unit in February… - bringing the price all the way down to $349 which may be the lowest price I think I’ve ever seen on the unit… - this pricing was originally on the White colored 400 however, they have changed things up a bit and at the time of making this video - this discount is now available for the Graphite colored unit - it seems they are trying to keep us all guessing. I’ll put a link to the discounted unit below… #3) Smart Air - The Smart Air product line is now available in Switzerland - this is the 19th country that Smart Air products are now available in… It seems they are slowly but surely taking over the entire world – stay tuned. #4) AllerAir - Aller Air is now offering an interactive panel on the Pro 5 and Pro 6 units. There it is. : Functionality includes: Child lock option, Sleep mode, UV on/off, A Timer, Fan speed control and A Remote control. It looks like the interactive panel option adds $175 to the cost of the units… WHoo ah!!! You can get a 15% discount on the AllerAir Air purifiers with Coupon Code DZAIR15. (only put the code in the short - not the long). I’ll leave a link to their website below. #5) Clean Air kits - the makers of merv 13 filtration solutions has been experiencing very high demand recently. So much so -that there is currently at least a 1 week delay in shipping… I recently ordered 2 units from them and - they did in fact take just over a week to ship my orders… so, congrats to them for the increased sales. I’ll leave a link to their website below. #6) IQAir - IQAir usually avoids discounting their product line, as if discounts were the plague, itself. However, in a shocking turn of events - they are currently offering a 5% discount on most of their units with coupon code MCS5. This code works on the US website but if you are not in the US - you may have to ask them for a code for your region. #7) Filtration Advice - I came across this interesting website called Filtration Advice - and they have a Filter Library with about 65 different MERV filters from different manufacturers like 3M, filterBuy, NordicPure, etc… and they show some 3rd party testing results on these filters performed by some different labs… and like I tell you… not all HEPA filters will filter at the same levels and also, not all MERV filters will filter at the same levels either… some HEPA filters will filter better than others and some MERV filters will filter better than other MERV filters. This website kinda drives this point home as it shows what the filters are rated at and marketed as and then they show what rating the filters actually performed at with a 3rd party test. A few of the filters actually filtered better than their rating but others definitely filtered worse. For example this Nordic pure MERV 14 filter - we click on the picture and we get the test date - the lab that performed the testing - in this case, it was, Blue haven technologies - and the efficiency they found was MERV 13 - not the published MERV 14… so it tested out 1 level below the stated MERV rating. So, I looked at a bunch of these test results and here are the 3 most striking issues I found from them in this filter library: #1) 3M - the 3M Merv filters performed well - as I would have expected… of the 6 different 3M filters in this library - 3 tested out at the stated merv rating and 3 others filtered BETTER than their stated ratings.. And this is somewhat consistent with other 3rd party testing I have seen in the past for 3M filters…. #2) Filterbuy: 3 of the 4 Filterbuy filters in this library filtered WORSE than their stated rating and their 1” MERV 13 filter was tested and it performed at only a merv 7 rating - yikes! That is 6 levels below the stated MERV 13 level that they claim… This was the worst performing of all the 64 or so filters in the entire library… Now, On Amazon -this FilterBuy merv 13 4 pack is cleaning house - pun intended… with over 21,000 reviews and an average rating of 4.6 stars.
