Seen as one of the best "swerves" that the company ever put on Pay-Per-View, The Rock aligned himself with Vince McMahon at Survivor Series 1998 when fans still wanted to cheer for The Great One. Rock joining McMahon while winning the WWF Championship would mean that "The People's Champion" was no more, and The Rock became "The Corporate Champion". As a heel, The Rock would perform the Corporate Elbow while raising the Corporate Eyebrow, but still fans wanted to cheer for Rocky. As part of Vince McMahon's Corporation stable, The Rock would mainly feud with Mankind and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Rock remained popular throughout this whole time period, and while fans have good memories of the heel Rock in late 1998 and early 1999, The Rock's time as a Corporation member really didn't last all that long.
